UTF-8 text encoded as standard Base64.

Convert text and Base64

Base64 represents bytes using ASCII characters. This tool first encodes text as UTF-8, so accented letters, Chinese, Arabic, and emoji survive a round trip.

  1. Select Encode for readable text or Decode for Base64.
  2. Paste your input or load an example. The output updates immediately.
  3. Copy or download the result. For example, Hello encodes as SGVsbG8=.

Accepted Base64

The decoder accepts the standard alphabet (A–Z a–z 0–9 + /) with canonical = padding. Spaces, tabs, and line breaks are ignored. Missing or misplaced padding, invalid characters, and nonzero padding bits produce an error. URL-safe Base64 with - and _ is not supported.

Text only, with strict UTF-8

Binary files and other text encodings cannot be decoded here. Invalid UTF-8 bytes are reported instead of being replaced with unreadable characters. All conversion happens in your browser. Base64 is an encoding, not encryption; anyone who has the result can decode it.
