CSS Filter & Backdrop Composer
Tune color and blur, change effect order, and compare element filtering with a translucent backdrop panel.

An original vector landscape supplies color, edges and fine detail.
Original
With effects
Your browser does not support backdrop-filter. The preview uses the exported unfiltered fallback.
brightness(110%) contrast(105%) saturate(140%) sepia(10%) Element filter preview. Effects run from first to last.
.filtered-element {
filter: brightness(110%) contrast(105%) saturate(140%) sepia(10%);
} Compose filters in a deliberate order
- Choose element filtering or a translucent backdrop panel.
- Set effect amounts and reorder functions with Up and Down.
- Compare the original and processed drawing, then copy the CSS.
Why does order matter?
Filter functions process the preceding result from left to right. For
example, applying brightness before invert can produce a different result
from invert before brightness. Functions at their identity value are
omitted from the export; when every effect is at its identity value, the
result is none. Zero brightness, zero contrast, zero
saturation and zero opacity are meaningful effects, not reset values.
Element versus backdrop filtering
Filter changes an element’s own rendered contents. Backdrop-filter changes pixels behind a panel, so the panel needs a transparent or partly transparent background for the effect to show. Here the drawing stays unfiltered in backdrop mode and the panel filters only the area behind it. The export includes its background alpha, prefixed and standard properties, plus a more opaque fallback when neither property is supported. Real backdrop behavior can also depend on ancestor stacking and backdrop roots.
Limits and practical checks
This builder supports blur up to 20px; brightness and contrast up to 200%; saturation up to 300%; grayscale, sepia, invert and opacity from 0–100%; and hue rotation from -180 to 180 degrees. Values round to three decimals. Drop shadows, SVG filter URLs and custom CSS are outside its scope. Effects may be expensive on large areas, and altered colors can reduce contrast. Check performance and readability in your final page. The preview uses local original art; it does not request user image URLs. The artwork is not included in the CSS export.
